Job summary

UPMC is seeking an Intermediate Software Engineer to join multi-year modernization projects across IBMi and .NET/Cloud stacks. You will collaborate with engineers, Architects, BAs, Scrum Masters, PMs and stakeholders within an agile/DevOps environment.

This role emphasizes software development, secure coding, and quality through coding standards, unit tests, and code reviews. Remote work with standard business hours.

Qualifications

• Proven Experience in .NET, C#, and Microsoft server-side technologies.
• Experience in Azure Cloud technologies like Azure Functions, Service Bus, Azure Data Factory, Blob Storage, etc.
• In-depth Experience with Angular, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, bootstrap
• Capable of designing and consuming REST APIs
• Experience with source control systems such as GitHub, Azure DevOps
• Experience working in Safe Agile/Scrum
• Experience creating automated unit tests
• Deep understanding of object-oriented concepts, design patterns, clean coding, and code review practices

Responsibilities

New Position! UPMC is looking for an Intermediate Software Engineer to continue to build and expand the team to work towards multi-year multiple modernization projects. The expectation is to work with other software engineers and Architects on multiple technology stacks (IBMi and .Net/Cloud), other roles (BA, Scrum Master, PM, QA) within and across the IT departments as well as with Business Stakeholders in the agile/DevOps framework.

Job Shift: Regular Daytime Hours – Standard Business Hours (Eastern Standard Time)

Responsibilities:

• Application Development Cycle – Show fundamental knowledge of the application development cycle.
• Security – Show fundamental knowledge and the ability to learn secure coding processes and writing, accessing, and following established security protocols.
• Troubleshooting – Show the ability to resolve basic issues and offer input on issue resolution.
