Cyvl is hiring a Software Engineer to turn raw sensor data into the Infrastructure Intelligence Platform used by cities. You will own features end-to-end across cloud pipelines, APIs, and the web app, with exposure to customers and cross-functional teams.

The role supports remote work from SF or local in Somerville, MA, with a bias toward on-site collaboration in Somerville as needed. We value hands-on builders who ship real-world software.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience (senior 5+ years).
• Strong Python and backend systems experience.
• Experience with cloud infra (AWS) and containers (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Ability to own features end-to-end and ship iteratively.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship production systems (Python services, data pipelines, APIs, web platform).
• Own features from idea to production with product, data ops, and customers.
• Build integrations (Esri ArcGIS, Cartegraph, etc.) into government tools.
• Improve system performance, cost, and reliability as we scale.
• Leverage AI coding tools to move faster.
