Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market is seeking an experienced software engineer to own the design, delivery, operation, and continual improvement of assigned services within the engineering domain. You will analyze complex problems, design APIs and event-driven integrations, and mentor engineers across teams.

The role reports to the Store Support Office in Phoenix with a hybrid schedule requiring in-office presence Tue–Thu.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in modern programming languages.
• Experience with microservices, REST, event-driven systems, data stores, streaming, cloud platforms, CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Track record of training or providing technical guidance to other employees.

• Conduct detailed analysis and investigation to resolve difficult engineering problems involving related systems or disciplines.
• Design APIs, data contracts, service boundaries, and event-driven integrations for assigned services.
• Explain technical designs and recommended changes to engineering and cross-functional partners and ensure shared understanding.
• Provide technical guidance and training to associate and intermediate engineers; may delegate work and review work products.
• Operate assigned services independently and seek leadership guidance for decisions with broader architectural, financial, security, or organizational implications.
