Software Engineer III in Development and Testing (SDET) - O&F

Position Summary...

What you'll do...

As a member of the Health and Wellness Quality Engineering group, you'll be responsible for test designing, test execution, and defect finding using manual and automation methods that can directly improve customer experiences. You'll independently handle high-impact, critical software/system monitoring issues, troubleshoot business and production problems. You'll also contribute to developing best-in-class methodologies that have a significant business impact.

About Team:

Our team develops reusable technologies to assist with customer acquisition, onboarding, and merchant empowerment, ensuring seamless experiences across channels—store, mobile app, and website. We optimize tariffs and assortment aligned with Walmart's Everyday Low Cost philosophy, delivering affordability and customized experiences.

What you'll do:

1. Write automated and manual tests, ensuring each feature has a comprehensive test plan covering key user flows.
2. Develop or work with automation tools and frameworks, both open-source and commercial.
3. Guide the quality engineering team to write integration and end-to-end automation tests, optimizing quality and reducing manual effort within business constraints.
4. Ensure quality of sprint deliverables with cross-functional teams.
5. Perform test automation, performance, and load testing.
6. Create efficient testing strategies to increase internally found defect ratio versus customer-reported defects.
7. Maintain and expand automated test coverage.
8. Conduct functional testing aligned with Agile pace, reporting issues promptly.
9. Estimate testing requirements for planning.
10. Enhance the test case library to improve coverage.
11. Maintain internal quality documentation.

What you'll bring:

• Proficiency in designing and developing test automation scripts/frameworks with Selenium and Object-Oriented Programming.
• Experience in API testing and automation using REST Assured.
• Experience testing complex backend applications and multi-layered components.
• Strong SQL and NoSQL database knowledge.
• Success working within Agile development environments.
• Knowledge of SDLC, lean and agile practices, environment/configuration management, and test methodologies.
• Mentoring skills, commitment to quality, and customer experience focus.
• Analytical and troubleshooting skills with data analysis tools.

The annual salary range is $90,000 - $180,000, with additional bonuses and stock options for eligible roles.

Minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree in a related field with 2 years of experience or 4 years of relevant experience. Preferred qualifications include experience with accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2 AA), inclusive digital experience creation, and a master's degree in computer science.
