Job description

Position Summary

As a member of the Health and Wellness Quality Engineering group, you’ll be responsible for test designing, test execution, and finding defects using both manual and automation that can directly improve our customers’ lives. You’ll independently handle high impact, critical software/systems monitoring issues, and troubleshoot business and production issues. As a member of the team, you’ll be able to say that you work for the world’s largest retailer and contribute to the development of best-in-class methodologies that impacted perception and drastically changed business as we know it.

About Team:
Our team creates reusable technologies to help with customer acquisition, onboarding, and empowering merchants, while ensuring a seamless experience for both of these stakeholders. We also optimize tariffs and assortment in accordance with Walmart's Everyday Low Cost philosophy. We not only create affordability, but we also deliver customized experiences for customers across all channels - in-store, mobile app, and websites.

What you'll do:

  • Write automated tests and perform manual release testing. Ensure that every feature has a test plan that includes key user flows.
  • Experience developing or working with commercial or open-source automation tools and frameworks.
  • Provide guidance to the quality engineering team to ensure they are equipped to write integration or end-to-end automation tests to optimize quality and reduce hands-on time by the team within business constraints.
  • Ensure the quality of sprint deliverables working alongside cross functional teams.
  • Perform Test Automation, Performance, and Load testing.
  • Develop intelligent and efficient testing strategies to dramatically increase the ratio of internally found defects versus customer-reported defects.
  • Develop and maintain automated tests for new and existing tests to increase automated test coverage.
  • Plan and perform functional testing, keeping pace with the Agile team and reporting and finding issues.
  • Estimate testing requirements for input into planning efforts.
  • Enhance the test case library to increase test case coverage.
  • Maintain and update internal quality documentation.

What you'll bring:

  • Strong working knowledge to design and develop test automation scripts/framework with Selenium and Object-Oriented Programming.
  • Strong working knowledge of API Testing and automation using REST Assured libraries.
  • Experience working with complex back end applications and testing multi-layered components.
  • Strong working knowledge of SQL and No-SQL persistence approaches.
  • Demonstrated success working within an Agile development environment.
  • Knowledge of application software development life cycle concepts, lean and agile best practices, environment and configuration management, test management methodologies and processes.
  • Mentors teams in problem solving, committed to quality and passionate about customer experience.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. Sufficient knowledge of tools necessary for strong data analysis.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to collaborate and influence cross-functionally.
  • Detail oriented and organized with a strong discipline of adhering to standards.
  • Strive to ensure quality releases of software with no production downs and/or critical impediments to users.
  • A strong commitment to taking complete ownership of successful delivery of projects.
  • A strong commitment towards learning and self-improvement.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 2 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
  • Option 2: 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
