Walmart Global Tech in Sunnyvale is seeking a Software Engineer III to design, build, and scale high-impact systems across backend services, automation frameworks, and GenAI-powered engineering tools.

You will work on distributed systems, native mobile and web automation, and AI-driven workflows that accelerate engineering productivity across Walmart’s global eCommerce and Store ecosystems. This role suits engineers who own their work and thrive in fast-paced, cross-functional environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend engineering, automation, or quality engineering.
• Strong experience with Node.js, JavaScript, Python, or similar languages.
• Hands-on experience with REST APIs, distributed systems, and backend automation.
• Experience with mobile/web automation frameworks (Appium, TestCafe, XCUI Test, Espresso).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and modern DevOps tooling.
• Strong understanding of system integration, debugging, and performance optimization.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or related field.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and scale high-impact systems across backend services, automation frameworks, and GenAI-powered tools.
• Develop and integrate AI-powered agents, workflows, and automation systems.
• Ensure backend systems meet availability, scalability, performance, and security requirements.
• Create end-to-end automation frameworks for backend, web, and native mobile platforms.
• Track program metrics, defects, and drive continuous improvement across processes.
