Job summary

Google’s Pixel Advanced Camera Autofocus team is seeking engineers to own the end-to-end lifecycle of Pixel camera features, from research and algorithm development to prototyping, optimization, and final commercialization.

In this role, you will shape the mobile imaging experience by delivering 3A/ISP and computational photography features while collaborating with Hardware, Research, and Chip design teams to ensure sharp, high-quality images across Pixel devices.

Qualifications

  • Minimum: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with software development in C++.
  • 1 year of experience with ML infrastructure.
  • 1 year of experience with computer vision or imaging.

Responsibilities

  • Write product or system development code.
  • Research and develop 3A (Autofocus, Auto exposure, Auto white balance), ISP (image signal processor) and other computational photography/computer vision features such as depth map, scene understanding that are mobile friendly and simulate the physical world.
  • Conduct new feature development, productization, and system specification, through software prototyping, simulation, and image quality characterization.
  • Work with cross-functional teams such as Hardware, Research and Chip design teams.

Minimum qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
  • 2 years of experience with software development in C++.
  • 1 year of experience with ML infrastructure (e.g., model deployment, model evaluation, optimization, data processing, debugging).
  • 1 years of experience with computer vision, imaging, or augmented reality platforms.
Preferred qualifications
  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • 2 years of experience with performance, large-scale systems data analysis, visualization tools, or debugging.
  • 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms
  • Experience with sensor characteristics, optics, and image signal processing of the mobile imaging system.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $147000 - $210000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits
