Job summary

Google is seeking software engineers to develop next-generation display technologies and large-scale systems. You will work on end-to-end product life-cycle for display solutions across phones, foldables, and tablets, collaborating with hardware, silicon, and platform teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
• 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
• 3 years of experience working with embedded operating systems.
• Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field is preferred.
• 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms is preferred.
• 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role is preferred.
• Experience developing accessible technologies is preferred.

As a member of the Pixel Display team, you will collaborate closely with hardware, in-house silicon, and platform teams to drive the end-to-end product life-cycle for next-generation display solutions across phones, foldables, and tablets.

Bridging the gap between advanced display hardware and system software, you will work across the entire stack—including the bootloader, open-source Linux kernel, Android Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL), and Android Open Source Project (AOSP) frameworks. In this role, you will dive deep into the technology to innovate and deliver a mobile display experience that perfectly balances optimized power, peak performance, and brilliant image quality.

The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google’s artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $174000 - $252000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits
