Job summary

TomoCredit is hiring a Senior Software Backend Engineer to join our in-house team at the San Francisco headquarters. You’ll own backend projects from concept to completion, shaping scalable, high-performance systems and APIs.

As an early team member, you’ll drive technical decisions, collaborate with product and design, and help grow our technology stack while impacting millions of users. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity with mentorship and growth prospects.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of Node.js experience.
• Proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Experience designing RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
• Hands-on AWS experience (EC2, EBS, RDS, CloudWatch, Lambda).
• Experience with asynchronous processing and messaging queues.
• Bachelor's degree in CS or related field, or equivalent.

• Collaborate with design and product teams to define and launch new features.
• Take end-to-end ownership of backend projects, ensuring scalability and high performance.
• Design, build, and maintain robust APIs.
• Leverage AWS services to create robust, cloud-based solutions.

What You’ll Be Doing

What You’ll Need

Professional Experience:

• 3–5 years of experience working with Node.js.
• Proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Expertise in SQL databases, particularly Postgres or Redshift.
• Experience designing, building, and maintaining RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
• Hands‑on experience leveraging AWS services such as EC2, EBS, RDS, CloudWatch, and Lambda.
• Demonstrated expertise in managing asynchronous processes and implementing messaging queues.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
