Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. in Columbus, OH is seeking a Software Engineer III within Corporate Technology to design and deliver trusted, secure platform solutions across DevOps, cloud, and data services. You will work on container platforms, CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, and observability tooling to improve resiliency and automate operations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a DevOps/Platform/SRE role.
• Strong Docker and Kubernetes experience.

• Hands-on Terraform and IaC practices.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate container platforms using Docker and Kubernetes, including deployments, scaling, and lifecycle management.
• Develop and maintain Linux-based CI/CD pipelines (build, test, package, deploy), improving reliability, security, and speed.
• Manage artifact lifecycle and dependency workflows using Artifactory (publishing, promotion, retention, access controls).
• Provision and manage infrastructure using Terraform and infrastructure-as-code best practices (versioning, reviews, drift detection).
• Support MySQL and Kafka components in production environments, including basic configuration, performance troubleshooting, and operational monitoring (as applicable to the role).
• Implement and support infrastructure management activities (capacity planning, patching strategy, configuration management, standardization).
• Enhance observability and telemetry: logging, metrics, traces, dashboards, alerting, and incident response using tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, and Grafana.
• Configure and support load balancers and traffic management patterns (routing, health checks, TLS termination, failover).
• Contribute to sustained resiliency and disaster recovery readiness (RTO/RPO understanding, runbooks, testing, failure exercises).
• Drive automation across operational workflows (environment provisioning, deployment, validation, remediation, reporting).

As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Technology, Employee Platforms team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted, market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.

Job responsibilities

• Build and operate container platforms using Docker and Kubernetes, including deployments, scaling, and lifecycle management.

Required qualifications, skills, and capabilities

• 5 years of experience in a DevOps / Platform / SRE / Infrastructure Engineering role.
• Strong experience with Docker containers and Kubernetes (core concepts, workloads, configs/secrets, troubleshooting).
• Experience with Artifactory (repository management and artifact promotion practices).
• Solid Linux fundamentals (system troubleshooting, processes, networking basics, scripting).
• Proven delivery of CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins/GitLab CI/Azure DevOps or similar) with automated testing and deployment.
• Hands-on infrastructure provisioning with Terraform (modules, state, remote backends, environments).
• Working experience with MySQL (operations, backup/restore concepts, troubleshooting, monitoring).
• Working experience with Kafka (topics/partitions, producers/consumers, operational monitoring/troubleshooting).
• Experience with observability/telemetry tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, Grafana (logs/metrics/traces; alert tuning).
• Understanding of load balancing concepts and operational support in production environments.
• Practical experience supporting high availability, sustained operations, and DR/resiliency planning and testing.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with service mesh, ingress controllers, or Kubernetes policy controls.
• Familiarity with secrets management and secure supply chain practices (SBOM, signing, scanning).
• Experience operating in regulated environments with change/release controls.
• Exposure to incident management, root cause analysis, and post-incident improvements.
• Experience working with the SecuriThings device management platform.
• Relevant certifications in Kubernetes or Docker (e.g., CKA/CKAD/CKS or Docker certifications).
