AST SpaceMobile is seeking a Software Engineer II – Cybersecurity & Encryption to design, implement, and maintain secure software for government and defense programs. You will work on cryptographic algorithms, secure communications, and authentication systems within a collaborative team.

The role emphasizes secure coding, vulnerability remediation, and compliance with cybersecurity standards while contributing to DevSecOps practices and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/CE/Cybersecurity or related technical discipline.
• Minimum 4 years in software engineering focusing on cybersecurity or encryption.
• Experience with cryptographic libraries, encryption protocols, or secure communications.
• Experience with Linux/Unix environments and secure coding practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain secure software applications for mission-critical programs.
• Implement cryptographic algorithms and secure communications protocols.
• Develop authentication, authorization, and key management capabilities.
• Perform secure code reviews and vulnerability remediation.
• Support security compliance via technical controls.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams on assessments and findings.
• Participate in full SDLC including deployment and sustainment.
• Produce well-structured, tested code using modern languages.
• Support integration with hardware security technologies.
• Contribute to documentation, reviews, and engineering discussions.
• Support DevSecOps including automated security testing and secure deployment.
• Research emerging threats and cryptographic technologies.
