Mercury Insurance is seeking a Software Engineer II to design, develop, and maintain complex software systems. This role involves working on advanced projects and mentoring other engineers to help strengthen the team.

You will translate product requirements into robust designs, write high-quality code, and participate in reviews to ensure performance, security, and scalability. In-person interviews may be required in certain states.

Qualifications

• Experience in programming in one or more industry-standard languages (e.g., Java, Python, Go, C++, JavaScript).
• Knowledgeable in data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
• Relational databases, NoSQL, and caching solutions knowledge.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate and influence team members to address impediments and deliver results.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.

Responsibilities

• Write high-quality code for medium-complexity scenarios with good test coverage.
• Translate product requirements into robust designs to ensure high-quality, modular, scalable applications.
• Assist with application system support needs.
• Participate in design and code reviews to ensure best practices and Mercury standards.
• Mentor engineers and foster a culture of innovation and excellence.
