Job summary

Solipsys, managed by Collins Aerospace, is seeking a Software Engineer to design and implement real-time C2 software. You will write code in Java and C++, build features in an Agile team, and contribute to world-class command-and-control systems for government and commercial customers.

Travel to customer sites for demos and integrations may be required up to 25%. A STEM degree and 2+ years of software development experience are typical qualifications.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) plus 2+ years of software experience.
• Experience with object-oriented languages (Java/C++).
• Strong CS fundamentals, data structures, algorithms, distributed systems.

What You Will Do

• Design, architect and code critical capabilities in an active Agile environment.
• Develop innovative new features for a new real-time situational awareness Command & Control (C2) systems.
• Work in a highly collaborate team environment to design, architect and innovate software solutions.
• Engage & build positive relationships with both customers as well as internal & external employees.
• Travel to customer sites for demos, integration and support.
• Ability to travel up to 25%

Qualifications You Must Have

• Relevant work experience in software development using object-oriented programming languages such as Java or C++.
• Strong computer science fundamentals such as data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, information retrieval. Relevant work experience with full life cycle development including exposure to software requirements, design, development, debug and test.
• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Direct hands on individual experience with GraphQL, REST, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Redis, Postgresql, Docker, Kubernetes, Angular, Typescript, HTML/CSS, among many other programming languages and related technologies.
• Relevant work experience in software development using object oriented paradigms and multithreaded systems.
• Experience with Container Orchestration implementation such as Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift
