Overview

Solipsys Corporation, located in Fulton, MD, is a wholly‑owned subsidiary of Raytheon Technologies (RTX). We are seeking a Software Engineer 1 (entry level) to join our team. The role is onsite in Fulton, Maryland and may be eligible for relocation.

Responsibilities

• Develop innovative new features for a new real‑time situational awareness Command & Control Systems (C2) using Java.
• Design, architect and code critical capabilities in an active Agile environment.
• Work in a highly collaborative team environment to design, architect and innovate software solutions.

What You Will Learn

• Develop high quality software to support real‑time situational awareness Command & Control Systems (C2) systems.
• Support engineering process improvements, audits and peer reviews.
• Work within a highly collaborative software team and interface with other engineering disciplines as needed to meet program contract milestones.
• Update documentation related to test, verification and design activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) obtained prior to start.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance is required.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
• Experience and/or knowledge in programming multithreaded systems.
• Experience in software development using Java or C++.
• Experience may be obtained through on‑the‑job experience, research, coursework or projects.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to engage & build positive relationships with both customers as well as internal & external employees.
• Opportunities for travel to customer sites for demos, integration and support.
• Strong computer science fundamentals such as data structures, algorithms and information retrieval.
• Relevant work experience using software development tools (e.g. Maven, Apache Ant, Jenkins, etc).
• Relevant work experience with full life cycle development including exposure to software requirements, design, development, debug and test.
