Job summary

Raytheon in the Dallas area seeks an Embedded Software Engineer II to join the Surveillance Sensor RF Solutions Engineering Team. This onsite role focuses on real-time embedded systems development for defense applications.

You will design, code, test, and integrate software across OSes and hardware, work in agile teams, and contribute to next-generation capabilities. A DoD Secret clearance is required after day 1, with US citizenship.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) required.
• Experience in developing, testing, and integrating real-time software in C++ or similar languages.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python/Shell/Perl.

The Software organization develops software applications, including integration and test on missiles, launchers, radars, naval systems, fire control and other complex systems. Assist and participate in the requirements, design, development and testing of real-time embedded software, application software, and tools, to include development of new work products or enhancement of existing applications and systems.

Design, code, test, integrate, and document software solutions.

Participate in internal review of software components and systems.

Collaborate with project managers and other professionals within Engineering.

Work on problems with defined scope, schedule, and expectations.

Follow established development practices and processes to maintain the configuration management of software products.

This position may require occasional business-related travel.

This job is onsite in McKinney, TX or Plano, TX; applicants must be in the area or willing to relocate to it.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires a Master's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
• Experience in developing, testing, and integrating real-time software applications written in C++ or closely related software languages.
• Experience in computer scripting languages such as Python/Shell/Perl.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Development experience on Linux, VxWorks, or other Real Time Operating Systems.
• Experience working in lab environments with physical hardware (e.g., test benches, simulators).
• Ability to quickly understand and navigate complex systems and established code bases.
• Experience with product development utilizing the Scrum techniques of the Agile software development process.
• Experience with DevSecOps pipeline implementation and
