Job summary

Worldpay is seeking a Software Engineer II in the Greater Boston area to design, develop, and maintain scalable microservices for a high‑volume payments platform. You will work across teams to turn business goals into technical solutions and contribute to a large, complex system powering merchants worldwide.

You’ll apply Agile practices, support production deployments with zero downtime, and build domain expertise in e‑commerce payments while advancing features for our processing stack.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of Java software engineering experience (excluding internships).
• Strong design, SQL, and Java programming skills.
• Ability to translate business goals into technical solutions.
• Experience with microservices architecture and globally distributed services.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test software for scalability, reliability, and data recovery on a high‑volume platform.
• Collaborate with Product, Platform, Merchant Services, and Support teams to translate requirements into solutions.
• Use Agile practices like pair programming and TDD to improve quality.
• Deploy features into production with minimal downtime and impact to users.
• Develop expertise in e‑commerce payments and expand product capabilities.
