Job summary

Worldpay is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Gordian Knot team, helping power payment processing and value-added services for merchants. This role is remote for the Greater Boston area and requires 7+ years of Java experience with a strong focus on scalable systems.

You’ll design, develop, and test software for a high-volume platform, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and deploy features with zero downtime while shaping future microservices and cloud-native solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer engineering, CS, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in Java software engineering (excluding internships).
• Strong design, SQL, and Java programming skills.
• Ability to translate business goals into technical solutions.
• Experience with microservices and cloud technologies.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and modern DevOps tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test software for a high-volume, high-availability platform.
• Collaborate with Product, Platform, Merchant Services to translate requirements into solutions.
• Apply agile practices, including pair programming and TDD, to maximize quality.
• Deploy new features with zero downtime and minimal impact to live customers.
• Develop expertise in e-commerce payments and contribute to new features.
• Work in a team-focused culture with strong collaboration and communication.
