Job summary

Office of the Clerk, U.S. House of Representatives is seeking a Software Engineer II to join the Legislative Applications team. You will design and develop software for Clerk-managed systems and support operations in an enterprise IT environment.

You will work with ASP.NET, React and GraphQL in a containerized setup using Docker and Kubernetes, while aligning with Agile practices and customer feedback to deliver secure, reliable solutions for the House.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in computer science or related field and equivalent work experience preferred.
• At least three years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience with ASP.NET, React or GraphQL in a modern environment.
• Ability to learn quickly and work with customers in a dynamic setting.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to Clerk-managed systems by designing, developing, reviewing code, fixing bugs and supporting operations.
• Use modern engineering workflows in an agile process.
• Build products to support House legislative processes and data exchange across the Legislative Branch.
• Develop in a containerized environment using Docker and Kubernetes with frameworks such as React, ASP.NET and GraphQL.
• Provide support for enterprise products ensuring security and availability.
