Job summary

Deloitte’s Government & Public Services GPS team in Chicago is seeking a Software Engineer II to work on the Human Services Transformation initiative, delivering systems implementation, operations support, and application development for state and local agencies.

The role requires a technical bachelor’s degree and 1+ years of experience in public sector settings, with strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or another technical field.
• 1+ years of experience with state public assistance systems supporting eligibility determination, benefits administration, or case management.
• 1+ years of experience supporting state government clients in eligibility determination, benefits calculation, or information management.
• 1+ years of experience supporting systems implementation, operations and maintenance, or software development and maintenance.
• Willingness to travel 0-25% on average.
• Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.

Responsibilities

• Support systems implementation, operations and maintenance, and application support activities.
• Contribute to workstreams involving help desk operations and software development and maintenance.
• Complete assigned tasks and deliverables to support project timelines and quality standards.
• Review work products for accuracy and escalate issues as needed.
• Collaborate with team members and client stakeholders to support project execution.
