Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan is seeking a software engineer to design, develop, test, and document applications across JavaScript, Java, .NET and web technologies. The role includes production support, incident management, and ownership of change requests within the System Development Life Cycle.

You will work with SQL databases and review patches, coordinating with third-party vendors as needed. Strong analytical skills and effective communication are essential for success in this role.

Formación

• Must have minimum 3-5 years relevant experience which provides the necessary skills, knowledge, and abilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field; combinations of education, certifications, and experience may be considered.
• Certification or progress toward certification is highly preferred (Microsoft .NET certifications such as MCP/MCSD/MCAD are preferred).
• Proficiency in SQL and relational database concepts; knowledge of Oracle Middleware is a plus.
• Knowledge of HTML, XML, JavaScript and other web-related technologies; working with OOAD and MVC patterns.

Responsabilidades

• Verifies changes by developing unit test plans, test data and scripts; performs debugging.
• Owns problem management process and ensures resolution to completion; develop preventative measures.
• Identify and resolve advanced application issues using appropriate code languages, toolsets, or configuration processes.
• Monitor the lifecycle of systems; be aware of obsolescence and release dates.
• Review patch and upgrade information and ensure implementation where appropriate.
• Track issues and errors, documenting resolutions.
• Act as liaison between the Company and third-party vendors.
• Ensure documentation is available for administrators and users.
• Respond to and resolve reported issues in a timely manner.
• Review a change request and estimate effort for completion.
• Perform peer reviews for developers on system break/fix and enhancements.
