Job summary

Greenlight seeks a Software Engineer II, Frontend to join the Web Platform and Family Hub team. You will translate mobile features to highly usable web experiences, mentor engineers, and shape the technical standards for the web platform. A strong background in Next.js and modern tooling is required.

You will report to the Director of Engineering and enjoy a range of benefits and a flexible work arrangement, with compensation aligned to location and experience.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 3+ years of software development with a track record of technical leadership.
• Expertise in React/Next.js/Remix and modern build tools, testing, and CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of groundbreaking web experiences, translating mobile features to the web with world-class UX.
• Drive technical strategy, define engineering standards/best practices, mentor engineers, and establish the technical vision for the web platform.

We are looking for a Software Engineer II, Frontend with a background in web development to join our Web Platform and Family Hub team. Our ideal candidate has a background in NextJS web application development, understands application design and development but also wants to participate in the deployment and operational phases of the SDLC.

This role reports to the Director, Engineering.

Technologies we use:

• Frontend: React, Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Modern build tools (Turborepo, etc.), Testing (Cypress, React Testing Library, Jest).
• Backend & Infrastructure: Node.js, Express, TypeScript/Kotlin, REST APIs, AWS

Your day-to-day:

• Lead the design and implementation of groundbreaking web experiences, translating mobile features to the web with world-class UX.
• Drive technical strategy, define engineering standards/best practices, mentor engineers, and establish the technical vision for the web platform.
• Manage technical debt, champion code quality, and lead architectural evolution.

What you’ll bring to the team:

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent
• 3+ years of software development experience with a track record of technical leadership
• Expertise in React/Next.js/Remix, experience with modern build tools, testing, and CI/CD.

Our stance on salaries:

Greenlight provides a competitive compensation package with a market-based approach to pay and will vary depending on your location, experience and skill set. The total compensation package for this position will also include a discretionary performance bonus, equity rewards, medical benefits, 401K match, and more. Greenlight conducts continuous compensation evaluations across departments and geographies to ensure we are keeping our pay current and competitive.

The estimated base pay range for this position in (NY, CA, WA): $140,000-170,000

The estimated base pay range for this position in (CO): $140,000- 160,000
