Job summary

Greenlight, a leading family fintech, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Full-Stack, for the Web Core team. You will build and evolve foundational web platforms, translating mobile features to the web with strong UX and collaborating with product and engineering teams to deliver scalable web experiences.

You will provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and shape engineering standards while working across frontend and backend domains using React, Next.js, Node.js, TypeScript, and

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 7+ years of software development with leadership experience.
• Deep expertise in React/Next.js/Remix and modern frontend frameworks.
• Strong background building REST APIs and backend services with Node.js/TypeScript/Kotlin.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of groundbreaking web experiences with world-class UX.
• Define engineering standards and best practices; mentor engineers; shape the web platform's technical vision.
• Manage technical debt, improve code quality, and drive architectural evolution across services.
• Design, modify, and develop backend services powering web products, ensuring scalability, reliability, and observability.

Greenlight is looking for a Senior Software Engineer, Full-Stack for our Web Core team. This is an exceptional, high-impact opportunity to help bring Greenlight's core product functionality to the web. As part of a horizontal platform team, you'll build and evolve the foundational systems that power web experiences across the organization, partnering with product and engineering teams to enable scalable, high-quality development. In addition to contributing across our frontend and backend services, you'll provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and help drive engineering excellence across the platform.

This role reports to a Director, Engineering.

Your day-to-day

• Lead the design and implementation of groundbreaking web experiences, translating mobile features to the web with world-class UX
• Drive technical strategy, define engineering standards/best practices, mentor engineers, and establish the technical vision for the web platform
• Manage technical debt, champion code quality, and lead architectural evolution
• Design, modify, and develop backend services that power web products, ensuring systems scale and championing system reliability, performance, and observability

What you’ll bring to the team

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent
• 7+ years of software development experience with a track record of technical leadership
• Deep expertise in React/Next.js/Remix
• Strong experience building REST APIs and backend services with Node.js/TypeScript/Kotlin
• Experience with modern build tools, testing, and CI/CD

Preferred experience

• Experience with A/B testing/experimentation and modern MarTech tools (Segment, Optimizely, Mixpanel, Amplitude)

Our stance on salaries

Greenlight provides a competitive compensation package with a market-based approach to pay and will vary depending on your location, experience and skill set. The total compensation package for this position will also include a discretionary performance bonus, equity rewards, medical benefits, 401K match, and more. Greenlight conducts continuous compensation evaluations across departments and geographies to ensure we are keeping our pay current and competitive.

The estimated base pay range for this position in (NY, CA, WA): $142,000- 210,000

The estimated base pay range for this position in (CO): $142,000- 177,000
