RTX El Segundo is seeking a Software Engineer II (Embedded / Radar) to contribute to the Gen4 Tactical Airborne Radar product development. You will work on RT embedded software for radar modes, participate in all phases of the SW lifecycle, and collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams onsite at El Segundo campus.

Candidates typically have a STEM degree and 2+ years of experience, proficient in C/C++/ADA, and RTOS/LINUX; ability to obtain security clearance required.

Space and Air division in El Segundo, CA is seeking a Software Engineer II [Embedded / Radar] to be part of their product development team for the Gen4 Tactical Airborne Radar group.

What you will do:

• Work on technical problems and provide innovative solutions, with minimal guidance.
• Contribute at all phases of the SW development lifecycle, including SW/HW integration
• Develop RT embedded SW, specifically pertaining to various radar modes and capabilities.
• Utilize investigation and troubleshooting skills to assess issues and develop solutions.
• Work with teams across multiple disciplines, internal and external
• Participate in program and customer meetings/reviews
• Support the team leads as needed regarding technical decision making, problem resolution.
• Help to ensure performance to technical, cost, schedule, quality.
• Support of system and software requirements and architecture generation and analysis as needed.
• Must be able to obtain “special access programs” (SAP/SAR) for continuation of employment.

Qualifications you must have:

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.

• Development experience coding in C/C++/ADA or related languages/tools.

• Experience working on UNIX, Linux, Windows, VxWorks or other RTOS

• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Current DoD Secret and Top Secret Clearance

• Introductory Experience with design, code, integration, and test of software into a large software baseline and large system

• Proven ability to obtain a Special Access Program (SAP) Clearances

• Experience developing Radar Software applications

• Experience working in an agile/scrum team hyper-collaborative team environment using typical agile oriented tool suite.

• Direct experience with Agile methodologies.

• Analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot tool and system operation performance issues.

• Experience with large complex systems such as airborne radars.

This position requires security clearance. DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services (DCSA CAS), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. The salary range for this role is 75,800 USD - 144,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
