Job summary

CoStar Group in Richmond, VA is seeking a Software Engineer II, Data Management to build large-scale, distributed, API-driven systems using React JS, C#, .NET, AWS, and SQL Server.

This role focuses on delivering robust, maintainable code and leading software design, with Monday–Thursday in‑office and the option to work from home on Friday.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited, not-for-profit in-person university or college.
• 4+ years of experience in React JS, JavaScript.
• 4+ years of experience in C#, .NET Framework & Web API 2.0 Development.
• 3+ years of experience in MS SQL Server OR Database Design in T-SQL or PostgreSQL programming/performance tuning.
• Experience in architecting, designing and building large-scale distributed, services-oriented systems and web applications in an agile environment.
• Understanding of AI technologies and hands-on experience leveraging AI tooling (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Gemini, Grok).
• Data modeling experience.
• Track record of commitment to prior employers.

As a CoStar Software Engineer on the Data Automation team, you will play a key role in expanding the data platform that supports all of CoStar Group’s largest brands including, CoStar Suite, LoopNet and Homes.com. You will deeply understand what drives the business for which you are building software. Preferred Qualifications

• Strong communication skills (to both business and technical partners)
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure or AWS)
• Advanced SQL Querying
• Data modeling experience from conceptual, logical and physical designs
• Experience with RESTful web services
• Experience leveraging ML technologies in production systems (Azure Machine Learning, AWS SageMaker, etc.)
• Experience implementing LLM technologies into production systems (Azure AI Foundry, AWS Bedrock, etc.)

The final salary or hourly rate offered for this role will fall within the range set forth below based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, skills, and competencies.

BaseCompensation:$108,000 - $140,000 annually
