Collins Aerospace is seeking an exceptionally motivated Software Engineer for the Aguadilla, PR site to contribute to Mission Systems within the Resilient Connectivity Products (RCP) team. This onsite role requires collaboration with a high-performance software team to translate requirements into robust software artifacts.

You will work on designing, implementing, and validating software in a cross-functional environment, with emphasis on tests, interfaces, and certification standards.

Qualifications

• Requires STEM degree and 2 years of experience or an advanced degree.
• Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
• Experience with embedded development using object-oriented design.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a software team to translate System Requirements into Software Requirements and UML/SysML models for a large-scale program.
• Provide direct support to stakeholders by addressing technical questions and troubleshooting issues.
• Partner across domains to maintain and enhance software design and code aligned with customer requirements and certification standards.
• Produce high-quality software builds within an integrated test environment with rigorous testing and validation.

Collins Aerospace’s Resilient Connectivity Products (RCP) team is looking for an exceptionally motivated Engineer that is passionate about collaborating with High-Performance Teams to create mission critical solutions supporting Mission Systems.

Our Software Engineers work in an exciting, adaptive, and engaging environment enabling rapid learning to drive success. They utilize a variety of skills on a regular basis including requirements analysis, synthesis of new and existing architectures that meld commercial and military communication functionality and software engineering development best practices for complex systems where the ability to execute the mission is paramount.

This position will sit at our Aguadilla, PR location and is to be worked Onsite, 5 days a week. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.

What YOU will do

• Collaborate with dynamic software team in a cross-functional environment, contributing to the definition and translation of System Requirements into Software Requirements and UML/SysML models for a large-scale program
• Provide direct support to stakeholders by addressing technical questions, troubleshooting issues, and offering solutions to ensure smooth project execution and customer satisfaction
• Partner with team members across domains to maintain and enhance software design and code, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and certification standards
• Take ownership of producing high-quality software builds within an integrated test environment, ensuring optimal performance and reliability through rigorous testing and validation

Qualifications you must have

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 2 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
• Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
• Experience with Embedded Development using object-oriented design
• Experience with development tool sets, for example, Jira, Subversion/Git/Version Management
• Direct involvement and success in Agile methodologies
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance after start date.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Experience with requirements analysis and requirements decomposition
• Knowledge of microservices, containers and orchestrators
• Knowledge and/or experience with memory-safe applications (Ada or Rust)
• Experience with automated test environments (Python)
• Knowledge of DevSecOps and CI/CD
• Experience with Graphical User Interfaces
• Experience with databases
• Experience integrating/deploying software to hardware solutions
