Job summary

Uber is seeking a Software Engineer II on the Capacity and Efficiency Engineering (CEE) team. You will design and maintain the capacity planning stack, including demand-to-supply forecasting models, plan pipelines, and the services that publish capacity and spend plans.

You will own the full software lifecycle, backtest forecasts, improve accuracy, and collaborate with Product, Data Science, Finance, and infrastructure teams to translate complex problems into robust, scalable systems that drive

Qualifications

3+ years of professional software engineering experience in backend, distributed systems, or data engineering.
Proficiency in one or more programming languages (Go, Java, Python, or C++).
Experience with data modeling, query optimization, and translating problems into system design.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience writing tests and implementing monitoring for code stability.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain the capacity planning stack and forecasting models.
Build and scale data pipelines connecting demand, resource use, and cost attribution.
Improve accuracy and explainability of forecasts, backtest against history.
Own end-to-end software lifecycle, from design to debugging and incidents.
Collaborate with Product, Data Science, Finance, and infra teams to translate requirements into robust designs.
Provide quality code reviews, tests, and data-quality checks; improve system performance.
