Job summary

Motion is seeking a Software Engineer II to design, develop, and install software solutions in Birmingham, Alabama. Under supervision, you will analyze systems and implement improvements to support business operations.

You will manage production support, write code for back-end and front-end tasks, and ensure software quality through testing and reviews. A bachelor's degree and 3–5 years of related experience are typical.

Qualifications

Typically requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field and three (3) to five (5) years of related experience; or equivalent combination.
Proven ability to effectively troubleshoot program errors.
General understanding of how technology supports the business.

Responsibilities

Manages trouble ticket resolution for multiple applications.
Provides production support by troubleshooting issues, proposing solutions, developing and testing fixes, and migrating solutions with limited supervision.
Uses back-end and front-end languages to optimize performance, scalability, and security.
Codes programming logic per design specifications set by senior developers and leadership.
Handles installation, configuration, development, workflow design, monitoring, and upgrades of software products.
Monitors quality and performance through testing and maintenance.
Develops and unit tests application programs per Technical Designs and obtains code reviews.
Presents work for review and sign-off by peers or management.
Performs other duties as assigned.
