Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking a Software Development Engineer II for the Selection Monitoring team on the Universal Brand Catalog (UBC). You will design and own large-scale data systems, ML-powered services, and self-serve tools to help brand recruitment teams identify missing brands across Amazon’s global catalog.

You will work across the full software lifecycle with applied scientists and product managers, mentor junior engineers, and influence technical direction from day one.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience for new and existing systems.
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered software applications using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate scalable services and large-scale data pipelines across Amazon's global catalog.
• Own features end to end — requirements, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and operations.
• Partner with applied scientists to put ML models into production and measure data quality.
• Turn ambiguous business problems into clear technical plans and build self-serve tools for brand data by market and category.
• Mentor junior engineers and interns through code reviews and design guidance.
