Job summary

R1 RCM Holdco Inc. is seeking a software engineer with 2+ years of experience to design, code, test, deploy, and operate production systems that power our AI-enabled revenue cycle platform.

You will work with product managers, operators, and AI/ML engineers to run experiments, ship features, and scale secure, compliant systems. Location preference includes New York, San Francisco, or Austin.

Qualifications

• Software engineer with 2+ years of experience building and operating production systems.
• Experience owning features or services end-to-end in production.
• Ability to lead projects independently from design through deployment.
• Enjoys talking to users to understand needs and designing with product.
• Experience scaling production systems and debugging performance issues.
• Curious about applied AI and eager to deepen expertise.
• Healthcare experience is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Design, code, test, deploy, and operate frontend applications, backend services, data pipelines, and AI systems powering models, specialized reasoning and resolution agents, and human-in-the-loop AI features.
• Run A/B tests and ship production features tied to real business outcomes.
• Partner closely with product managers and operators to turn cumbersome manual workflows into agentic and AI-driven automations.
• Work with AI and ML engineers to build AI-native systems that combine deterministic logic, traditional ML models, and LLMs.
• Design and build secure, compliant, and reliable systems at scale.
• We prefer this role to be located at one of our hub offices: New York, NY; San Francisco, CA; or Austin, TX
