Job summary

Thunderbolt Solutions is seeking a Software Engineer 1 in New Jersey. The role involves collaborating in an agile team to define subsystems, design, implement, integrate, and test software for defense and commercial markets.

Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and be able to obtain a government security clearance. Experience with Java, C++, or Python and Unix/Linux environments is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Physics, or related field) or equivalent related work experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a government secret clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
• Successful applicant must obtain and maintain the required security clearance or other authorization within the necessary timeframe required by applicable contract(s).
• 0-2 years experience in real-time mission critical development, maintenance, or support in an open/layered architecture environment; operating environments; model-based tools; information assurance; tools development; safety analysis; real-time system data analysis; problem analysis; system integration.
• Experience with object-oriented design/development, including the employment of design patterns to facilitate software insulation techniques and plugins.
• Experience developing software with Java, C++, or Python; experience working with the Windows, Solaris, and Linux environments.
• Experience developing Solaris and other variants of UNIX scripts; strong skills with MS Office and integrated development environments such as Eclipse; familiarity with UML syntax and its use; familiarity with driver-based and automated test environments.
• Experience with the following tools is considered a plus: Clearcase, JIRA, xUnit framework, JUnit and CPPUnitLite, CMMI Level 5 life cycle processes and procedures, assemblers.

Compensation Statement (New Jersey Pay Transparency Notice)

In accordance with New Jersey’s pay transparency requirements, the anticipated annual salary for this position is between $72,000 and $100,000. This range represents a reasonable estimate based on the expected scope of work and varying levels of experience.

Final compensation will depend on several factors, such as job responsibilities, relevant experience, education, certifications, specific skills, internal alignment and prevailing market rates. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
