Job summary

TALENT Software Services in Minneapolis seeks a software engineer to help build a reusable framework for data integrations, with a focus on resiliency, system health visibility, and modularity.

You will participate in a weekly on-call rotation to handle external questions, monitor health metrics, and perform admin-type tasks, while time outside on-call is spent advancing features per the roadmap.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Java and Python with 3–5 years of experience preferred.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform services (Dataflow, BigQuery, Airflow, Cloud Functions).
• Familiarity with data integration patterns and encryption/security practices.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers to build a reusable data integration framework emphasizing resiliency and observability.
• Participate in weekly on-call rotations to address external inquiries and monitor systems.
• During non-on-call periods, contribute to roadmap-driven feature development.

We're in RMN, specifically handling the integrations with external partners.

Project Description:

The Retail Media Ad Integrations team is responsible for integrating with 3rd party partners to share information related to advertising. In this space, we ship large amounts of data using Google Cloud Tools such as Dataflow, BigQuery, Airflow, Cloud Functions, and more to enable data sharing and activation on third-party tools. This area also has an AWS footprint where we're spinning up new API to serve various information for internal and external partners.

Position Summary/Job Description:

• Work with a team of engineers to help build out a reusable framework for handling data integrations with a focus on resiliency, system health visibility, and modularity.
• Participate in a weekly on-call rotation, where you will handle external questions, monitor system health, and handle administrative type tasks.
• During non on-call time, work with other engineers to build out features and functionality as we progress on our roadmap.

Skills Overview:

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform using tools such as Dataflow, BigQuery, Airflow, Cloud Functions
• Experience working with integration patterns/tools such as SFTP, S3, GCS Buckets, PGP Encryption
• Experience using Agentic AI workflow tools to write code
• Experience with various Databases (BigQuery, Big Table, Oracle, Mongo, and Postgres)

Experience with the following languages:

• Java and Python - 3-5 years experience preferred

What are some preferred/nice to have skills the manager is looking for?

• Proficiency with domain-driven development, design patterns, and data movement patterns
