Job summary

Arcfield in Middletown, RI is seeking a software engineer to join a collaborative team, developing and integrating applications using Java on Linux, React, PostgreSQL and Python. You will design, test, and evaluate system/software integration and participate in agile development with minimal direction.

Candidates should have 3–5 years of software development experience, a BS in CS/CE or related field, and strong problem solving with automated testing.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of software development experience.
• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technology field.
• Experience with Java, React, HTML/CSS/JSON/SQL.
• Strong object-oriented programming and automated testing skills.
• Experience on Linux-based systems and common IDEs.
• Familiar with IDEs (Eclipse, VS Code) and tools (Bamboo, Gradle, JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket).
• Experience with network protocols and relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB).
• Strong problem solving, testing, debugging and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Work in a team environment to understand, create, and modify applications using technologies such as Java (Linux), React, PostgreSQL, and Python.
• Design, develop, evaluate, and test system/software integration.
• Interpret, assess, and support development and maintenance of requirements and software designs.
• Perform code reviews and support feedback for resolution.
• Ability to design and implement within an agile team environment with minimal direction.
• Communicate regularly with functional team leads to ensure effective work partnerships.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of Software Development experience
• BS 2-4 Years, MS 0-2
• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technology field
• Experience with Java (Linux), React, HTML, CSS, JSON, SQL
• Solid command of object-oriented software development and automated testing
• Experience with development under Linux-based systems
• Familiar with common IDE's such as Eclipse and VS Code, and tools such as Bamboo, Gradle, JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket
• Experienced with multiple network protocols, data transfer methods, and network debugging techniques
• Experienced with relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB.
• Strong problem solving, automated testing, and debugging capabilities
• Effective written and verbal skills
• Able to work and thrive in both individual and team-based development environments
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level security clearance

Equal Pay Act

This is the projected compensation range for this position. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
