Job summary

Tempus is seeking a Software Engineer II to contribute to Genomics AI initiatives in a fast-paced team. You will lead design decisions, implement core features, and embed AI tooling to accelerate development across frontend and backend systems.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, API-driven solutions on cloud platforms, while mentoring junior engineers and maintaining engineering standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software development experience in an agile environment.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript, Node.js, and React.
• Experience using GenAI coding tools and agents to accelerate development.
• Relational databases (PostgreSQL or MySQL) and caching (Redis).
• Experience designing RESTful/GraphQL APIs in microservice architectures.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (GCP or AWS) and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end design, implementation, and delivery of core features in service of team and quarterly goals.
• Integrate Generative AI tools and autonomous coding agents into your workflow to accelerate feature development and testing.
• Write clean, resilient code using enterprise design patterns that scale with business needs.
• Contribute to microservice and database architecture decisions with attention to scalability and caching.
• Proactively identify dependencies, surface roadblocks, and coordinate with product and engineering teams.
• Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and coaching.

Actual salary may vary based on qualifications and experience.
