Job summary

Talent Octopusventures in Alpharetta seeks a Software Engineer to perform moderate research, design, and development in a defined product area. You will write and review specifications and collaborate with team members to translate requirements into software designs.

The role requires 1+ year experience, a BS in engineering/CS, and familiarity with multiple languages (Java/J2EE, JavaScript, C/C++, .NET, HTML).

Qualifications

• 1+ years of Software Engineering experience.
• BS Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience required.
• Proficiency with data manipulation languages.
• Experience with Java/J2EE, JavaScript, JSP, C/C++, HTML, XML, SQL, Windows, UNIX, and .Net.
• Familiarity with code coverage and Agile/Waterfall methodologies.
• Knowledge of data storage subsystems and test-driven development.

Responsibilities

• Write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of system components of moderate complexity.
• Complete simple bug fixes.
• Work closely with other development team members to understand product requirements and translate them into software designs.
• Operate in various development environments (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) while collaborating with key stakeholders.
• Resolve technical issues as necessary.
• Keep abreast of new technology developments.
• All other duties as assigned.

BASIC FUNCTIONS

This position performs moderate research, design, and software development assignments within a specific software functional area or product line.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 1+ years of Software Engineering experience
• BS Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience required

TECHNICAL SKILLS

• Proficiency with data manipulation languages.
• Ability to work with simple data models.
• Proficiency in development languages including but not not limited to: Java/J2EE, JavaScript, JSP, C/C++, HTML, XML, SQL, Windows, UNIX, and .Net.
• Familiarity of industry best practices — code coverage.
• Basic knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
• Basic knowledge of data manipulation languages.
• Knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall). KNOWLEDGE OF DATA STORAGE SUBSYSTEMS . KNOWLEDGE OF TEST-DRIVEN DEV-O.
• Ability and desire to learn new processes and technologies.

U.S. National Base Pay Range: $71,600 - $119,400. Geographic differentials may apply in some locations to better reflect local market rates.

This job is eligible for an annual incentive bonus.
