Description

In this role, you will contribute to the engineering of the iCloud platform. Your background in network protocols, coupled with your understanding of client-server architectures and distributed systems, will enable you to build the server stacks for Push Notifications, iMessage, FaceTime, FocusModes, and iCloud. You will also contribute to the platform’s growth by designing system architectures, specifying custom network and security protocols, and implementing high-performance code. Additionally, you will develop scalability strategies for applications that support hundreds of millions of users. As a member of a small team with high visibility, you will have ample opportunities to make a significant impact. Minimum Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering-related field or equivalent related experience.
  2. 3 - 5 years of experience developing server software in Java, C, C++, C# or Swift.
  3. Experience with network protocols, storage systems, security algorithms, and Unix system internals.
  4. Experience with TLS, X.509 certificate evaluation, or other secure protocols.
  5. Experience designing and developing large distributed systems and maintaining them in production.
  6. Deep understanding of asynchronous and multi-thread programming concepts.
  7. Strong understanding of recent developments and concerns with standard protocols such as TLS.
  8. Independent, driven, motivated, and passionate about the products we work on.
  9. Developing application-level networking technologies and protocols Asynchronous I/O programming.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Solid understanding of networking protocols, storage system, security algorithm.
  2. Deep understanding of real-time and multi-threaded programming concepts.
  3. Developing application level networking technologies and protocols Asynchronous I/O programming.

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $166,600 and $250,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
