Job summary

RTX seeks a software engineer to design, develop, test, deliver, and maintain software for cutting‑edge defense systems. You will collaborate with engineers, architects, and leaders in an Agile environment, working across multi‑tier architectures and DevSecOps practices.

The role requires a STEM degree, experience in agile methods, and proficiency with C/C++, Python. It is an onsite US position with potential relocation eligibility and a high security clearance process.

What You Will Do:

• Design, develop, test, deliver, and maintain software for cutting-edge systems.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
• Experience working in Agile environments such as scrum, scrum at scale, SAFe and DevSecOps.
• Experience with tools such as Atlassian Suite (e.g., Bitbucket/Artifactory, Confluence, Crucible, Fisheye, Jira), Jenkins, Eclipse, and Ansible.
• Experience with software development, test, and/or integration using C, C++, Python, Ada, or similar.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment with time-critical requirements.
• Experience contributing to a team environment for the purpose of developing creative solutions to difficult technical problems.
• Experience working in a continuous integration/continuous development environment; experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of Red Hat and Linux Operating Systems.
• Exposure to Open Systems Architectures and modular design principles.
• Experience working closely and directly within a team environment.
• Experience with tools such as Confluence, Eclipse, Jira, Jenkins, Junit, Kafka, and Spring Boot.
• Knowledge of common skills for software application development.

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
