Job summary

Disney’s Entertainment & ESPN Product & Technology team is seeking a Software Engineer I to help build observability tooling for Disney's streaming platforms. You will implement features, fix bugs, and contribute to metrics, logs, and dashboards under mentor guidance.

The role offers a path to grow in cloud, containers, and IaC concepts. The position focuses on reliability engineering foundations, incident response exposure, and collaboration across product engineering teams to improve system

Qualifications

• Proficiency in at least one backend or systems programming language: Go or Python.
• Foundational understanding of software development practices: version control and code reviews.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain observability features (metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, alerting).
• Improve visibility for service teams by instrumenting services and surfacing operational trends.
• Learn platform engineering practices through guided tasks and code reviews.
• Collaborate with Observability & Insights and service teams to deliver incremental improvements.
