Affirm is building the foundational post-purchase platform and customer experiences to support global expansion. The role covers the end-to-end post-purchase journey across international markets, ensuring customers can manage purchases through locally tailored experiences.

You will partner with European engineering counterparts and global post-purchase teams to deliver cohesive, scalable solutions that bring products to new regions.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience designing, developing, and launching APIs at scale using Python or Kotlin.
• Hands-on experience shipping web applications using React or Vue.

The team owns the end-to-end post-purchase journey across international markets, ensuring customers can confidently manage purchases through experiences tailored to local needs. You will partner closely with European engineering counterparts and global post-purchase teams to deliver cohesive, scalable solutions that bring products to new regions.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to projects that advance the team's roadmap, with support from senior teammates
• Collaborate proactively with engineering partners and stakeholders, surfacing risks, trade-offs, and design choices early
• Balance delivery speed with engineering quality so business goals are met without compromising system reliability
• Help build team community through participation in growth, mentorship, and development activities
• Take part in an on‑call rotation to maintain platform health

Requirements

• Hands‑on experience (through work or internships) designing, developing, and launching APIs at scale using Python or Kotlin
• Hands‑on experience shipping web applications using a declarative UI framework such as React or Vue
• Ability to translate a business problem into a solution spanning multiple software components, producing clear, well‑tested, and extensible code
• Comfort navigating large codebases, debugging code written by others, and giving constructive feedback through code reviews
• A track record of owning your professional growth and proactively seeking feedback from teammates, managers, and partners
• Strong verbal and written communication skills suited to collaborating across global engineering teams

Nice to have

• Familiarity with payment, lending, or other regulated financial‑services platforms
• Curiosity about localizing consumer products for new international markets
• Exposure to large‑scale microservices or event‑driven architectures in production
