Job summary

RTX's Advanced Products and Solutions (APS) unit in McKinney, TX seeks a Software Engineer I with C++ and Linux experience to contribute to EO/IR programs. This entry-level role involves design, development, testing and integration of software for real-time aerospace systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) required or closely related field.
• Experience with C++ programming and OO design principles.
• Experience working with Linux operating systems, including shell scripting.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and debug software in C++ for real-time Linux-based systems.
• Collaborate with systems, electrical engineering and test teams for integration.
• Implement and optimize algorithms for performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Perform unit and integration testing to verify functionality against requirements.
• Write and maintain design specifications and technical reports.
