Job summary

Collins Aerospace, an RTX business, is hiring a Software Engineer for the Aguadilla, PR site. You will contribute to system requirements, translate them into software requirements and UML/SysML diagrams for a large program, and collaborate with engineers across disciplines to ensure quality and certification readiness.

You will learn the aerospace domain, apply modern software practices, and grow in a high-impact, security-conscious environment.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and less than 2 years prior relevant experience.
• Educational knowledge and project application on software development using Python, C++, or similar, including debugging, integration, and deployment on software platforms.
• Familiarity with software development processes (e.g., Agile, DevSecOps, CI/CD) and tools (e.g., Git, Gitlab, JIRA).
• Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
• Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.

• Effective Communication and Team Collaboration: Work closely with other software engineers and team members to ensure clear communication and collaboration, fostering a cohesive, solution-focused environment across multiple disciplines
• Develop Code to Meet Customer and Certification Standards: Collaborate with your team to maintain, enhance, and develop software that aligns with customer requirements and meets certification standards, ensuring both functionality and compliance
• Software Implementation in Test Environments: Take responsibility for producing high-quality software implementations and integrating them within testing environments, ensuring the code is thoroughly tested and meets all specified requirements

• Familiarity with Git, Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence, and Coverity.
