Job summary

Jobtailor in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, is seeking an entry-level software engineer to develop and maintain ATMS-integrated software. You will participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with a cross-functional team to design, implement, test, and integrate software components.

The role requires a STEM degree with <2 years of relevant experience, proficiency in Java/C++ and scripting (Bash/Python), and familiarity with Docker/Podman/Kubernetes in a Unix/Linux environment. U.S. citizenship is required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with less than 2 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to communicate professionally in English (oral and written).
• Exposure to software development, integration, testing, or validation, preferably in Unix/Linux.
• Familiarity with Java or C/C++ programming languages.
• Basic knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker/Podman/Kubernetes).
• Proficiency with Bash and Python scripting.
• U.S. citizenship required for program access.
• Familiarity with asynchronous messaging frameworks and Agile practices using Jira/Confluence/Bamboo/Bitbucket.
• Interest in learning Ada language and software testing/debugging.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software integrated into Air Traffic Management Systems (ATMS) products.
• Assist in maintaining documentation and work instructions to meet high-maturity software engineering standards.
• Collaborate in Agile ceremonies: daily standups, sprint planning, retrospectives, backlog grooming, and story pointing.
• Work with an integrated engineering team in a collaborative environment.
• Support, design, develop, integrate, and test software components throughout the lifecycle.
