Job summary

Uber Technologies Inc. is seeking a software engineer to design, develop, and test scalable applications that power movement in thousands of cities worldwide. You’ll work across the stack, tackle complex data challenges, and push for reliability in production systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CS/Engineering/IT/Math/Physics.
• Proficiency in Golang, Java, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases and data structures/algorithms.
• Experience designing technology stacks and microservice architectures.
• Familiarity with SDLC and software development tooling (Git, containers, CI/CD).
• Knowledge of networking concepts (OSI model, DNS).

Rate of Pay: $153,000 to $169,000 per Year

What you’ll do

• Design, develop, and test software applications.
• Design, develop, and/or test software applications using company technology stack.
• Apply technical knowledge to evaluate complex data, developments, and projects in order to provide recommendations to resolve technical issues.
• Support the company's business operations and improve engineering productivity.
• Build software components that can be integrated into a fully functional software system.
• Solve production issues in product and system reliability.
• May telecommute.

Basic qualifications

• Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering (Any), Information Technology, Mathematics, Physics, or related field.
• Position requires:
  • Golang, Java, Python, or Javascript/Typescript;
  • Experience in Database such as noSQL or SQL;
  • Data structures and algorithms development and functionality;
  • Designing technology stacks;
  • Micro-service architecture;
  • Software Development Lifecycle;
  • Software development tools such as git, scripting (bash/zsh), docker/containers, or CI/CD;
  • Computer networking (OSI model, DNS, etc).
