Job summary

Uber is seeking a Software Engineer II for the Data and Storage teams to design and build foundational infrastructure powering business decisions and services for millions of users. You will work on scalable storage platforms, data pipelines, and high-performance systems, with end-to-end ownership and strong monitoring.

You’ll collaborate across teams, tackle challenging reliability issues, and contribute to a culture of candid feedback while staying focused under high load.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering (Any), Information Technology, Mathematics, Physics, or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
• 2 years in: C++, Python, Java, Go, Git or SVN; SQL or MySQL; Data structures and algorithms development; Designing technology stacks; Large-scale distributed systems development; Software Development Lifecycle; Experience in backend development; Experience in cloud provider VMs.

As a Software Engineer II on our Data and Storage teams, you will architect the foundational infrastructure that powers business decisions and core services for millions of users. Whether you are scaling distributed storage platforms or building high-performance data pipelines, you will be solving complex challenges at the intersection of low latency, high correctness, and massive scale.

The problems here are messy and the systems are global. You’ll need to make smart decisions with imperfect information, own your work end-to-end, and stay calm when high-load systems are on the line. Rate of Pay: $171,000 to $209,000 per Year
