Job summary

The Structures Company is seeking a Software Engineer to design and implement data acquisition and control software for aerospace test stands in Torrance, CA. The role focuses on real-time data collection, instrument integration, and PLC programming using Allen-Bradley and Beckhoff platforms.

You will develop software in LabVIEW, Python, C/C++, and MATLAB/Simulink as needed, with hybrid work on select projects. This position requires a U.S.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Robotics Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in software development with a focus on data acquisition and test or process control systems.
• Experience in PLC programming with emphasis on Allen-Bradley and Beckhoff PLCs.
• Strong programming skills in LabVIEW or equivalent.
• Experience integrating test instruments into control systems such as power analyzers, power supplies, pressure scanners, temperature scanners, flow meters, pressure transmitters, and actuators.
• Understanding of networking concepts and experience in data sharing protocols for multiple real-time controllers.
• Ability to prototype and run tests including experimental setup, hardware configuration, and software implementation.
• Preferred: Experience with MATLAB/Simulink, C/C++, Python, or LabWindows/CVI.
• Preferred: Familiarity with NI SystemLink, TestStand, or VeriStand, version control tools (Bitbucket, Git, SVN), and requirements tracking systems.
