Job summary

Global Payments is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Portal team and help shape the future of global commerce. This hybrid role requires 3 days in office in Cincinnati, OH, Atlanta, GA, and Denver, CO (2 days per week).

You will collaborate with Product, Development, QA, and cross-functional teams to implement requirements, adhere to SDLC and security standards, and continuously improve product usability. Salary range cited: $91,900–$130,000.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience with front-end tech (HTML, CSS, JS) and modern frameworks.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and microservices using Java, Spring Boot, Spring Security, Spring Data JPA.
• Experience in Agile/SAFe environments with Scrum, CI/CD, TDD, BDD, DevOps, and automation.
• Strong experience with Git, GitHub, Copilot, and DevOps tools Jenkins, SonarQube, Nexus, Maven.
• Cloud-native tech experience including AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficient in SQL and relational DBs (Snowflake, DB2, MS SQL) and IDEs like IntelliJ, Eclipse, VS Code.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across distributed teams.

What you'll own

• Adhere to SDLC processes, coding standards, security requirements, and software engineering best practices.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex application issues across development, testing, and production environments.
• Leverage CI/CD, automation, and AI-assisted development practices to improve software quality, efficiency, and delivery.
• Provide technical leadership through solution design, implementation coordination, release support, and consistent delivery of commitments.

What you'll bring

• Abachelor's degree in computer engineering, computer science or other related discipline or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience
• 5+ years of experience in software development, front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), and modern frameworks such as Angular, React, or Ionic.
• 5+ years of experience designing and building RESTful APIs and microservices using Java, Spring Boot, Spring Security, and Spring Data JPA.
• Experience working in Agile/SAFe environments with modern software delivery practices including Scrum, CI/CD, TDD, BDD, DevOps, and automation.
• Strong experience with Git, GitHub, GitHub Copilot, AI agent-driven development, and DevOps tools including Jenkins, SonarQube, Nexus, and Maven.
• Hands-on experience with cloud-native technologies including AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipeline implementation.
• Proficiency in complex SQL and relational databases such as Snowflake, DB2, or Microsoft SQL Server, along with development tools like IntelliJ IDEA, Eclipse, and Visual Studio Code.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively across distributed teams and time zones.

It's a bonus if you have

• Experience with data streaming (i.e. Kafka), data messaging and event driven systems
