Science Corporation is a clinical stage technology company focused on neuroscience, vision, cognition, and mobility. We seek a seasoned full-stack engineer to own features for Helix and NOVA, transforming concepts into deployable software with an emphasis on robust APIs and scalable architecture.

Science is a clinical stage, vertically integrated technology company focused on solving some of neuroscience's hardest questions and most serious unmet medical needs. We work to restore quality of life to those with debilitating conditions for which there are no treatment options, creating devices aimed at restoring vision, cognition, and mobility to patients who have lost it. To support progress across our industry, we provide state-of-the-art components and vertically integrated infrastructure for others to build on via Science Foundry.

Science has developed software platforms that touch every part of the company, from external engagement to internal operational and R&D processes. We are looking for experienced, full stack software engineers to focus on two key platforms: our internal operating system, Helix, and our clinical trial management software, NOVA. This full-stack engineer will own the build of features and functionality tools from conception to deployment within these systems. The ideal engineer can absorb someone else's mental model and quickly build something that makes sense.

Key Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on experience as a web software engineer, including significant depth in full-stack development
• Experience with application deployment and DevOps
• Deep understanding of modern web applications design architecture, good API design patterns, and performance
• Expert-level programming ability, with fluency across multiple languages
• Demonstrated history of rapidly shipping solutions when confronted with complex, ill-defined technical problems
• Ability to act as your own product manager and understand the core requirements that make solutions effective
• A strong sense of when it's appropriate to address mounting technical debt and when to keep building new features

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong evidence of technical excellence, such as widely used open-source contributions, a track record of high impact (broadly defined) results, or experience building and maintaining production systems
• Background in high-performance computing: real-time systems, low-latency programming, game engines, or real-time media systems

For individuals hired to work in California, Science is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. We determine your level based on your interview performance and make an offer based on geo-located salary bands.The base salary range for this full-time position is $113,000-$210,000+ equity + benefits. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Please keep in mind that the equity portion of the offer is not included in these numbers.
