Wealthfront is seeking a Frontend Software Engineer to join a cross-functional scrum team building customer-facing features and improving our design-system driven UI. You will collaborate with backend, mobile, design, and product teams to deliver fast, accessible web experiences.

The role emphasizes performance, responsive UI, and integration with in-house systems. Remote work possible and Palo Alto hybrid in-office option is available.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years in a web-focused engineering role.
• Deep understanding of JavaScript (ES5+), native DOM APIs, and at least one modern frontend framework (React, Vue, Angular).
• Experience with Ruby on Rails or similar server-side frameworks is a plus.
• Experience designing with design systems to build responsive pages and fast-loading components.
• Strong collaboration in a fast-paced cross-functional environment.
• Experience with test-driven development, CI, and automated testing.
• BS or MS in computer science or a related field.

*This role supports US-based remote work, or Palo Alto, CA based hybrid in-office.

We’re looking for Software Engineers to join our team. As part of a cross-functional scrum team you will design and develop new products and features to help clients grow their wealth. In addition to building client facing features leveraging our in-house Design System components, you also work on improving our infrastructure and developer productivity and can have significant impact afforded by our cross-platform collaboration methods.

As a core member of the Frontend team, you will:

• Collaborate with backend and mobile engineers, designers, and product managers to build new features and enhance existing features
• Join other web engineers to triage and resolve operational issues, ensuring that mission-critical web systems and services operate smoothly across the web platform
• Help with web platform infrastructure projects to improve the health and performance of our systems and increase product delivery velocity
• Participate in recruiting activities such as interviewing
• Provide mentorship to other engineers on the team

This role could be a fit if you have:

• 2-5 years in a web-focused engineering role
• A deep understanding of JavaScript, including standard ES5+, native DOM APIs, and ideally at least one modern front-end framework (React, Vue, Angular, etc)
• Experience with Ruby on Rails or similar server-side frameworks (such as Express or Django) is a plus
• Experience working with design to build custom pages and components, with a focus on page speed performance and writing custom CSS to create pages that are responsive across a variety of screen sizes
• Real passion for working on projects that have a measurable business impact and like working in a fast-paced cross-functional environment
• Experience with test-driven development, continuous integration, and automated testing
• You have either a BS or MS in computer science or related field.

Estimated annual salary range: $150,000 - $189,000 plus equity and a discretionary bonus.
