Job summary

Wealthfront is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with Networking expertise to join the Infrastructure team. You’ll work across data centers, offices, and cloud to build and maintain critical financial systems.

You’ll design, implement, and automate network infrastructure with vendor-agnostic IaC and software-defined tooling. You will manage hardware and topology, build telemetry, and own automated change management.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with Terraform, Ansible and Chef.
• Proficiency with Go, Python or Ruby and Git.
• Demonstrated experience with Linux systems.
• Experience automating production data center environments (hardware provisioning, config, capacity).
• Proficiency with networking protocols (BGP, MLAG, VLANs, DNS).

Responsibilities

• Manage networking and server hardware, topology, and connectivity in data centers and cloud.
• Design and build network telemetry, monitoring, and observability.
• Build and maintain automated change management to deploy network configs and provision hardware.
• Triage and fix operational issues as on-call engineer; participate in post-mortems and improvements.
• Collaborate on decisions about evolution of hybrid cloud architecture.
• Liaise with third parties, vendors and ISPs; travel to Bay Area and NJ data centers/offices for onsite projects.
