Job summary

CACI International Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer to join a mission‑driven engineering team supporting critical national security programs. You will translate user needs into software design, develop features, and enhance systems across complex environments.

Responsibilities include implementing algorithms, debugging defects, integrating components, writing documentation, and leading teams when appropriate. A strong Python background and security clearance are required.

  • Use scientific analysis and modeling to design, develop, and refine software systems.
  • Build complex queries and data interfaces for advanced data repositories.
  • Apply strong Python skills to develop robust, production‑ready applications.
  • Develop and maintain applications capable of supporting hundreds or thousands of users.
  • Apply modern AI development concepts—including prompt engineering, context management, structured outputs, and tool/function calling—to accelerate development.
  • Build resilient, scalable stream‑processing applications using modern messaging and event‑streaming platforms.
  • Utilize AI coding assistants to streamline code generation, refactoring, debugging, and automation.

Qualifications
Required
  • Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph
  • 3+ years of Software Engineering experience supporting programs of similar scope and complexity.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Degree substitution: Four (4) additional years of SWE experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree.
Desired
  • Experience with agentic workflows and multi‑agent orchestration.
  • Background in cybersecurity or familiarity with security operations workflows.
  • Experience deploying systems in AWS Cloud using Kubernetes.
  • Experience with GitLab CI/CD automation.
  • Hands‑on familiarity with retrieval systems (RAG, vector databases, semantic search).
  • Ability to analyze cybersecurity‑related data (network traffic, OS events).
  • Knowledge of SIGINT collection and analysis systems.
  • Experience supporting production CNO capabilities and operations.

Pay Range

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is: $79,400 - $162,700
