Job summary

Millennium is seeking a software engineer in New York to join the Fixed Income & Commodities Technology team. You will collaborate with portfolio management, risk, and engineering to design, deploy, and optimize scalable trading applications.

The role emphasizes latency reduction, data processing, and integration with Kafka, Parquet, and cloud services. Strong Java/C++, Rust and SQL skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of professional software development experience in Java or C++, with at least 1 year in Rust.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with DuckDB, Postgres or other RDBMS.
• Experience with containerization, Kubernetes and ArgoCD.
• Experience with scalable backend architectures and performance optimization.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Work with portfolio management, risk, and engineering on application development, deployment, and architecture.
• Collaborate with quants, risk managers, and engineers to develop compute-intensive applications and process datasets.
• Optimize the platform to minimize latency through advanced techniques.
• Automate end-of-day processing, data integrity checks, and bulk data loads.
• Maintain and enhance capabilities to meet new requirements.
• Partner with project managers and leadership to capture analytic requirements and monitor delivery.
• Deliver timely solutions to portfolio and risk managers firmwide.
